Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Varanasi is a co-educational residential school established by the Government of India under the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Admission Process
Main entry through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for Class VI.
Additional lateral entry tests for Class IX and XI, subject to vacancy.
No admission through donation or direct admission — purely merit based.
Eligibility Conditions
Must be studying in Class V in a recognised school in Varanasi district.
For rural quota: should have studied Classes III–V in a rural school for the full session.
Age between 1 May 2013 and 1 July 2015 (for 2025 entry).
Candidate can appear for the test only once.

Fees & Expenses
Education, boarding, and lodging are provided free of cost by the Government of India.
Nominal fee of ₹600/month applicable for boys under general category whose parents are Govt employees.
No fee for SC/ST, girl students and rural category students.
